Communities
Many of our customers led the organisation of several events at our sites to honour the remarkable 70-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
We received more than a dozen applications from our residents to run Jubilee-themed activities, and we invested almost £3,000 towards making it happen.
Over the bumper four-day weekend from June 2-5, indoor and outdoor parties were held in many of our communities across London and the South of England.
Jubilee-inspired decorations, entertainment and food were put together for residents to enjoy together.
One of the Jubilee gatherings organised by residents, A2Dominion staff and volunteers took place at The Foyer in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Wonderful pictures show residents enjoying some outdoor activities, a BBQ and music in the glorious sunshine.
The Foyer is a supported housing scheme for vulnerable young people aged between 16-24.
Joanne Atkinson, Senior Support Officer at A2Dominion, said: “The Foyer staff put on a great Jubilee party for the residents, music was playing and lots of laughter between staff and residents.
“It brought all the residents together that we don’t usually see. The residents thanked A2Dominion and staff for a great time.”
Another fun-filled event for residents took place at one of our supported housing schemes in Oxford, where red, white and blue balloons and Union Jack flags lined the streets.
The residents from our Oxford Young Parents Scheme also took part in arts and crafts activities, and many tucked into a buffet lunch.
Our retirement living residents at Sevenoaks Court in Harrow also got into the Jubilee spirit.
Pictures show the retirement home decked out in Union Jack flags. Other images show many dressed immaculately in red, white and blue colours.
A2Dominion helped to provide funding for the events through our Care & Support Donations Fund.
