The awards, held at the Dorchester Hotel and hosted by comedian Romesh Ranganathan and presented by Team GB hockey star Kate Richardson-Walsh, were judged by Evening Standard readers and a panel of industry experts.

The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards champion excellence across the housing sector, from innovative first-time buyer apartments and eco-homes to luxury penthouse homes. Winners incorporated thoughtful design for challenging city living, planned space and flexible designer interiors. Additional categories were introduced this year to celebrate architectural excellence, regeneration and great eco design.

Judges picked winners based on developments that reflect or exceeded current best practice in the housebuilding market, specifically in the areas of design quality, energy efficiency, innovation, architecture, location and quality of finish.

Rosie Nesbitt, Group Director of Sales and Marketing at A2Dominion, said:

“This award adds to the growing collection of trophies won for City Wharf, in recognition of its outstanding high-quality build and transforming a previously derelict industrial area into a vibrant canal-side community for a variety of different tenures. We are delighted that the development continues to be recognised for its unique and ground-breaking design and build.”

City Wharf is a collection of 327 one, two and three-bedroom canalside apartments on Wharf Road, N1, in the London Borough of Hackney. The scheme revived the former industrial setting at Wharf Road, adjacent to Wenlock Basin and part of City road’s regeneration, enhancing the area’s status as one of the capital’s newest residential destinations.

The award follows other awards for City Wharf including What House? Awards 2016 for best exterior design (Gold) and best apartment scheme (silver) and Sunday Times British Homes Award 2016 winning for best apartment building

A2Dominion is committed to providing high quality housing, with over 36,000 homes across London and the South East, and thousands more in the development pipeline.
