We would like to congratulate one of our customers, Lyn Hutchinson, who won a community champion award at the G15 Community Impact Awards.

The G15 held its first Community Impact Awards on Wednesday 5 February to celebrate residents who go above and beyond to make a difference to their local community.
Lyn was recognised for her exceptional work after she set up a much-needed food hub for local families at the Havelock Community Centre in Southall.
The dedicated grandmother has volunteered in the community for the past 10 years and noticed residents were struggling following cost of living rises. She wanted to take action to address the issue and has since inspired others to give up their time to help run the food hub.
Lyn said: “I'm humbled by winning the award. It gives me a warm feeling inside, knowing I am helping people. It is heartbreaking sometimes seeing parents come in and the look on their faces when they know they are going to be able to feed their family that night. That’s what makes the hard work worth it”
Dawn Wightman, Director of Customer & Communities, said: “The G15 Community Impact Awards are a way to thank and recognise the achievements of volunteers, residents and community organisations who have gone above and beyond to help others. These are the people that help to make our communities great places to live, and it’s important we get the chance to celebrate them. Congratulations to Lyn, and everyone involved, we’re proud of your incredible work.”
Each winner received a certificate and community grant for their local project, with Lyn receiving £1,000. The award recipients were selected following a shortlisting process by a panel that included housing association residents.
Among the nominees was another community group which supports A2Dominion customers. Miindfulness was founded in Ealing and Hounslow by Emma Bayou in 2022, providing advice for more than 600 parents and carers and supporting children experiencing poor mental health in the area.
The Community Impact Awards highlight the important role housing associations play in not only providing affordable homes but also helping to support those living in local communities.
In the year to the end of March 2024, members of the G15 – a group of London’s largest not-for-profit housing associations, invested more than £27m in local communities, generating £52.7m of social value and supporting nearly 320,000 people.
