The courses will be available for those who live in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Run by A2Dominion’s dedicated Domestic Abuse Service, the online Managing Emotions Group (MEG) will be run for people who have experienced domestic abuse and may be facing overwhelming emotions or frustration in their relationships with friends and family. It will also support those who may have developed unhelpful coping strategies, such as substance misuse or self-harm.

The next set of MEG courses will begin on 11 May and bookings are now open.

Jo Evans, Director of Supported Housing at A2Dominion, said: “Sadly we know that domestic abuse has increased over the past year due to lockdown, so there will be many people who will now need support on their road to recovery.

“These sessions aren’t for people who are still in immediate danger, but for those who are trying to move on but may need support with managing their emotions. The course is designed to help people to embed positive behaviours that will improve their lives long after the 12 weeks are up.”

People can either self-refer by emailing DAS@a2dominion.co.uk or referrals are also being accepted through other domestic abuse services and public health organisations.

If you are currently experiencing domestic abuse you can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or always call 999 if you are in immediate danger.
