21 October 2024
This October, we’re shining a light on Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. It is dedicated to giving a voice to its victims, recognising the signs and where to get help.
October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month
Our dedicated team of specialists are on hand to provide:
- practical and emotional advice and guidance, either face-to-face or via our helpline
- a safe place to flee and help to rebuild lives.
One of our customers, who lives in Oxfordshire, shares her experience of the support she received from our team to report her abuser to the Police.
She says: “I would like to tell you how much the support worker helped me to protect myself and my daughter. The most important thing for me was to feel supported and guided.
“Being very stressed and scared, I found it difficult to comprehend what is going on and come up with a plan. And this is where her help was crucial. My support worker came with me to visit the Police 3 times. The last time she stayed with me through the night. She provided me with valuable advice, safety plan, and many other tips.”
