Big Impact Day supports customers in Chichester and Southall

Our ‘Big Impact Days’ continue to make a positive difference to our customers.

More than 40 of our customers received support from the team over the two days, with colleagues from our repairs service Pyramid Plus on-hand to complete more than a dozen minors repairs.
Bulk removal and gardening services were provided by our partners Rose Property Services, meanwhile UK Harvest delivered produce for a food distribution hub.
Colleagues also helped to raise awareness of our employment services, while neighbourhood officers were able to speak with customers and solve any queries.
A2Dominion customer Lyn Hutchinson supported running the Big Impact Day in Southall and has volunteered at the Havelock Community Centre in Southall for the last 10 years. The Havelock Community Centre has been running for 27 years and provides a safe, warm place for local residents. She also played a key role in setting up the food hub to support local residents.
Lynn said: “I love volunteering, it is an opportunity to give something back and help the community. I would encourage others to consider giving their time, it is a great opportunity to build on skills and make a difference.
“I feel passionately about providing opportunities for people to access food as me and my family have benefitted from food banks in the past. This service is crucial for people who could be experiencing difficulties in their personal circumstance.”
Julie Brooker, Communities Partner (Social Value) at A2Dominion, runs several Big Impact Days across our schemes throughout the year.
Julie said: “These events provide the opportunity for colleagues and our partners to come together and make a positive impact on our customers.
“Going out in the community can be so valuable, whether it’s simply speaking to a customer about an issue or completing a minor repair. At the time it may seem like a small thing to do, but this can have a big impact on someone’s day – and that’s what these sessions are all about.”
Our Big Impact days have been running for more than 20 years and are led by our Community Investment team. In 2023/24, the team helped to generate more than £12 million in social value.
